Sylvia Owori launched in 2004 provides a range of prêt-a-porter exclusively on sale in the flagship store in Kampala and in an outlet in Nairobi. The style can be described as a balanced mix between smart and elegant outfits for work and trendy casual wear for leisure, all designed with sophisticated and modern working women in mind.

Arise Africa Fashion Week took place in South Africa in June 2009. It
saw many fashion designers from all over Africa showcasing their
latest designs of which Sylvia Owori took apart. She showcased her
floral collection that left critics and the audience saying that she
had brought color and fun back to fashion.
Sylvia showed her versatile side in fashion with her collection, the
collection was a unique blend of color and sophisticated glamor.With
the response from the fashion critics being positive, Sylvia was sure
to win the crowds' support and applauds, leaving a distinct impression

This was a cultural festival that brought together all sorts of people
from Africa to showcase the richness of their cultures from all
sectors. The festival took place in Algeria in July 2009 and Sylvia Owori
was asked to represent Uganda as a fashion designer. She sent her
models and collection to Algeria and she was named among the most
creative designers in Africa. The Pan African collection was inspired
by Uganda crafts and organic material as she clearly showcased. All
the material used was from the richness of Ugandan soils. With that
she promoted the Uganda heritage and she was again applauded for her

Sylvia Owori has become a fashion icon in East Africa, on the the
continent and also around the world. She has been in the fashion
business for TEN YEARS and in December 2009 she celebrated Ten Years
of her mark in fashion at the Kampala Serena Hotel with many of her
fans and well wisher. She put up an amazing show, showing the audience
her 2009 collections. These were clothes from Alta Roma that took
place in Rome January, Arise Africa Collection in South Africa June,
Pan African collection that she showed in Algeria in July, and finally
her latest collection to mark Ten Years in Fashion and she closed the
show with the fantasy collection that had models wearing steam swim
wear. The show marked the end of one error and stepping into the new
decade with even more trend setting and focus.

This collection is very special to Sylvia Owori, and has a theme of ‘fashion with a purpose’!
The collection represents Uganda and the rich cotton that is grown from
their fertile soils. It depicts fashion with an aspect of environmental
friendliness exuding from Uganda. Sylvia Owori, therefore contributing
to the development of the society.
The other aspect to this collection is the ‘paper beads’. These beads
are made from coloured paper by the rural women in Uganda. This
empowers their lives, as employment is created and poverty eradicated

The show was a retrospective of the collections she has created for various events such as Cape Town Fashion Week, Kenya Fashion Week, the Face of Africa competition etc. Sylvia also presented a colourful and feminine new line for the first time named "The Fantasy Collection", as well as an exclusive Motocouture outfit, a surprise collaboration with the famous mobile company.
